INEGI - Institute Of Science And Innovation In Mechanical And Industrial Engineering
INEGI is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO), bridging the University – Industry gap and focused on applied Research and Development, Innovation and Technology Transfer activities for the industry. It was founded in 1986, among what are now the Departments of Mechanical Engineering (DEMec) and of Industrial Engineering and Management (DEGI) of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). Being a non-profit private association, recognized as of public utility and having its own team of 200 collaborators, INEGI is an active agent in the development and consolidation of a competitive model based on knowledge, on high product and process technological content and on technological innovation. INEGI acts as Lead Partner, assuming the activity coordination and management.
FEUP - Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto
FEUP, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, is part of the University of Porto (UPORTO), which origins dates back to the eighteenth century, and it is currently one the most prestigious Higher Education Institutions of Europe. FEUP is the largest faculty of UPORTO, with about 9035 students, 932 teachers and researchers across 9 departments. It is in the heart of Porto Innovation District and is the engine behind the success of the Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, UPTEC, the winner of the 2013 European Region Stars Award for Smart Growth.
INESC TEC — Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science
INESC TEC is a research institution, dedicated to scientific research and technological development, technology transfer, advanced consulting and training, and pre-incubation of new technology-based companies.
Hosting 750 researchers, it is the largest R&D organization in Portugal covering the thematic domains of Industry and Innovation, Computer Science, Networked Intelligent Systems, and Power and Energy. In the manufacturing domain, INESC TEC focus on areas such as: supply chain management and logistics, decision support systems, modeling and simulation, data management and artificial intelligence, interoperability, cybersecurity, automation and robotics and innovation management. To support its research, innovation and training activities, INESC TEC build the iiLAB – Industry and Innovation Lab, with 13 demonstrators in the Industry 4.0 domain, and participates actively in the coordination of the iMan Norte Hub – Digital Innovation Hub for Customer-Driven Manufacturing @ Norte.
Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems & Automation (LMS) – University of Patras
The Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems & Automation (LMS) is oriented on research and development in cutting edge scientific and technological fields. LMS is involved in a number of research projects funded by the CEU and European industrial partners. Particular emphasis is given to the co-operation with the European industry as well as with a number of “hi-tech” firms. It is organized in three different groups: Manufacturing Processes Modelling and Energy Efficiency, Robots, Automation and Virtual Reality in Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Systems.
CTU — Czech Technical University in Prague
The Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) is one of the biggest and oldest technical universities in Europe and currently the major technical university in the Czech Republic with approx. 1,700 members of academic staff.
CTU currently has eight faculties and about 16,000 students. It is represented in EIT Manufacturing project by two of its units — The Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics, and Cybernetics (CIIRC) and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
